A BABCOCK WANSON BWD40 Fire Tube Boiler has been installed into Meantime Brewing’s Greenwich, London site, which is used in multiple aspects of brewery operation. The 4 tonne BWD40 is a replacement for the existing 2.5 tonne boiler, which had come to the end of its working life. In a recent refurbishment of its Greenwich site, to both increase capacity and reduce its carbon footprint, Meantime Brewery appointed industrial process heating specialist Babcock Wanson to undertake the boiler replacement works. This included supplying the BWD40 Fire Tube Boiler and carrying out all the mechanical and electrical works as part of a turnkey solution. Babcock Wanson developed the plans in close consultation with chief engineers from across parent company, Asahi UK, and ensured the site meets BG01 Guidance on the Safe Operation of Boilers. t | 020 8953 7111 e | info@babcock-wanson.com w | www.babcock-wanson.com/product-category/ coil-type-steam-boilers/ RIELLO RX premix packaged burners are available in outputs up to 3MW, offering NOx levels of less than 40mg/kWh, with high turndown ratios of up to 8:1, across a wide range of models. Riello says its RX burners feature an exclusive design that includes a patented woven wire gauze ‘sock’ covering the combustion head cylinder. Gas and combustion air are mixed upstream of the combustion head and then pass through precision-located ports and the gauze ‘sock’ to ignite on the external surface of the combustion head. This arrangement enables a very compact flame with a diameter directly related to the burner firing rate, ensuring precise heat control and optimum efficiency at all loads. The high turndown makes RX burners ideal for systems with variable heat loads where low NOx levels are also required. t | 01480 432144 e | info@rielloburners.co.uk w | www.rielloburners.co.uk Sensing and Instrumentation specialist BAUMER has a very clear message for the upcoming PPMA Show - “From Process to Packaging, we are your one-stop-shop for Sensors”. But what does a ‘single-source supplier’ actually mean? The huge variety of new products and packaging materials which need to be conveyed, packed and sorted, often means that today every project has individual requirements for various sensor applications. By offering the combination of one of the widest ranges of sensors designed to deliver maximum flexibility and efficiency for processing and packaging applications along with outstanding research & development and operational excellence, makes the difference. At the Show (Hall 5 stand C84) Baumer will be demonstrating its award winning range of process sensors, object detection sensors, along with the innovative Baumer Sensor Suite, all featuring optimum IO-Link connectivity and BSS. t | 01793 783839 e | sales.uk@baumer.com www.baumer.com/gb/en/ w | www.baumer.com/gb/en/solutions/sensors-for-the- packaging-industry/a/sensors-for-packaging- industry HI-LINE INDUSTRIES, a UK-based leader in the design, manufacture and installation of energy-efficient compressed air purification equipment, has announced it has appointed Steve Smith as its new managing director. Replacing Mike Thurlow, who has retired, Smith is part of the company’s original team, joining as marketing director in 2000 when the business began trading. He has purchased Thurlow’s 50% share of the business and is now busy making plans to drive even greater success at Hi-line. The company says the outlook is extremely positive for this innovative and progressive UK manufacturer. At year-end (31 July 2022), Hi-line showed 27% growth in like-for-like sales, underpinned by a record year for the company’s N2 nitrogen generator systems and HPSA desiccant dryers, both of which have features and functions that provide notable market differentiation. Keeping pace with growing order levels is driving expansion at Hi-line’s Burton-upon-Trent headquarters and production facility. A new building extension is under design, but such is current demand that the company recently erected two temporary warehouse buildings simply to hold the additional materials required for dryer builds. “This company has come a long when since it began in 2000, but we can achieve even more,” says Smith. “We have new teams in the warehouse and service departments, which will help support our future growth in terms of both physical size and revenue. Despite our ambitions, however, the company’s founding principles will not change. Our experienced and qualified engineers will continue designing and building to the highest standards. We have great confidence in our high-quality workmanship and materials, which reflects in our five-year warranty. I’m very excited to spearhead our ongoing development in the coming years.” t | 01283 533377 e | enquiries@hilineindustries.com w | www.hilineindustries.com New MD, expansion and sales growth Boiler replacement expands capacity Premix burners up to 3MW A joint venture to meet the needs of process industry customers in the south has been launched in Bramley near Basingstoke. ENDRESS+HAUSER has collaborated with one of its authorised service providers, Electroserv, to create the new service hub, which comprises a wet flow calibration rig and electrical, temperature and pressure calibration facilities as well as meeting and office space. “The new site will improve our responsiveness by bringing our expertise closer to customers,” explains Chris Gibson, associate director – services for Endress+Hauser. “Instruments will spend less time in transit so we can get them back into our customers’ processes as quickly as possible.” Electroserv has had a close working relationship with Endress+Hauser for nearly a decade, supporting the company’s team of field service engineers with on-site calibration and verification. t | 0161 286 5050 w | www.uk.endress.com 26 | Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk September 2022 Process, Controls & Plant One-stop-shop for sensors Collaborating on calibration
