I f you run a workshop, there are certain items you know you are going to need every day. A vehicle lift will be pretty high on this list. Being able to get underneath a car is an absolute essential for every business. Unlike smaller pieces of kit that might get dropped and get broken, or get lost, these are pieces you buy in with the long-term in mind. Unless you are undertaking a major refurbishment and redevelopment of your workshop, or an actual site move, or they wear out, you probably don’t look into buying this sort of equipment very often. On that basis, it might be some time since you looked into what was out there and available. There will be new products out there, and new developments could help you become more efficient. Tremendous Commenting on the Dama range of vehicle lifts, Robin Huish, Managing Director of Hickleys, said: “It is only 18 months since the Dama range of vehicle lifts was introduced to the UK by Hickleys and what a tremendous success story they have been. While Dama is relatively new to the UK the same lifts are already market leaders in Spain and France and making excellent sales in most other European countries.” Robin continued: “We started slowly to ensure the product quality was right but since January 2018 the sales have just blossomed and the range continues to expand. In the beginning we brought a few lifts every six weeks or so but now we have a full truck load every month and often those are sold by the time they get to me. “Dama is a Spanish company with years of experience in vehicle lifts and whilst we acknowledge that some of the products are built in Asia like many other popular brand names there is a subtle difference. Dama lifts are made in Asia to a European design and under strict quality controls unlike other Chinese lifts that are designed and made in China and just purchased by European companies.” Support Support is key when buying equipment, more so when you expect to keep a piece of equipment for a while. On the warranty being offered with Dama vehicle lifts, Robin observed: “Customers often ask why there is a 14-month warranty, and the answer is twofold. Firstly, it is an acknowledgement that the quality is better than other one-year warranty lift products. Secondly, it is an attempt to reduce the frustration when you buy something and it fails just out of the 12 month warranty, those two extra months could make all the difference. In-fact we are so confident with the Dama brand you can extend the warranty year after year for a small fee.” Robin added: “To see the latest range download the latest catalogue from hickleys.com or ask your local motor factor for a copy.” 56 AFTERMARKET JUNE 2019 LIFTS AND JACKS Above: Equipment from Dama Right: LiftLine from Pro-Align www.aftermarketonline.net NEED A LIFT JACK?
