Big data platform from MAM MAM Software is launching a new big data platform that enables the analysis of parts lookup and fitment trends. The solution is part of MAM's catalogue data suite and provides access to data compiled anonymously from thousands of Autocat catalogue and Autowork Online garage management software users. MAM is launching the service with a free monthly ‘Insights’ ebulletin, which highlights key performance indicators from the automotive aftermarket. Companies requiring more detailed information can purchase bespoke reports for in-depth monitoring, trend analysis, reporting and analytics. Additionally, a data feed service will allow subscribers to manipulate and analyse data in third-party tools. www.mamsoft.co.uk/bigdata Autoelectro introduces alternator/starter motor Autoelectro have introduced a reversible alternator/starter motor for Peugeot’s 3008 and 508 HYbrid4 models. The new AEG9008 is a mild hybrid unit that incorporates a combined starter/alternator for the Stop/Start system, while supporting higher voltage power to the electric drive motor and battery system. The battery pack gets its charge from hybrid sources of regenerative braking, plus this 8kW starter/alternator which is connected to the conventional auxiliary drive on its diesel engine. www.autoelectro.co.uk National Auto Parts’ brake and clutch additions National Auto Parts has added to its clutch and brake disc ranges, with 13 new part numbers and nine new part numbers added respectively, covering some of the world’s most popular makes and models. The NTR additions for its clutch range include two CSC kits, four SMF kits, three clutch kits, two service kits, a pilot bearing and a Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC), covering applications for Ford Mondeo, Renault Laguna, Audi A3, Vauxhall Astra, Citroën C4, Volkswagen Crafter and Ford Transit, among others. New additions to its brake disc range cover applications from Mazda, Toyota, Renault, Mercedes and Hyundai. www.national-auto.co.uk The Parts Alliance extends braking range The Parts Alliance has increased the number of parts in its DriveTec brake friction range by 60% in the last 12 months, while the range of discs has increased 50% over the same period. There has also been a packaging overhaul. In addition to the range extension, coated discs have been phased in too. These are edge-marked and the company are upgrading to R90 compliance. On the pads front, there has been a shift from metal to low noise rubber shims to exceed R90 requirements across the copper-free formulated range. DriveTec is now available throughout The Parts Alliance’s local brands and branch network, replacing Vetech with GSF Car Parts. www.drivetecautoparts.com Klarius: engine maintenance and service fluids Klarius Products' range of automotive maintenance products has grown with the addition of new engine fluids. Klarius engine flush is designed to purge sludge and carbon from the engine prior to adding new oil. Suitable for the oil systems of either petrol or diesel cars, the flush helps to stabilise cylinder compression, extends the service life of exhaust devices and reduces emissions while lowering fuel and oil consumption. Petrol System Cleaner removes varnish and gum from the fuel system. When added to a half full tank, the fluid clears EGR valves and tackles carbon deposits. Diesel System Cleaner is used in the same manner, helping to clean injectors, compression rings and valve seats. Completing the range is DPF Regeneration Aid, which is formulated to allow soot burn off inside the device at lower temperatures. This is useful for diesel vehicles that only conduct short journeys where high regeneration temperatures aren't typically reached, it keeps the DPF filter clear to prevent clogging and power loss. www.klarius.eu New MEYLE-HD control arm for Land Rover A new MEYLE-HD control arm has replaced three OE control arm versions for the Land Rover models Range Rover IV and Range Rover Sport. The new control arm can be used for three different wheel camber settings, thus replacing three different OE parts. Instead of six references, there are now only two control arms required for the repair of the models. MEYLE No. 53-16 050 0027/HD is for the left, and 53-16 050 0028/HD is for the right. The continuously variable ball joint with exact position display also allows camber correction during axle alignment directly on the vehicle. www.meyle.com SMPE: EGTS introductions SMPE has added 30 new part numbers to its range of exhaust gas temperature sensors. The new parts cover a range of makes including Audi, Citroën, Ford, Mercedes, Peugeot and Vauxhall, for both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The latest additions are available across SMPE’s house brands including Intermotor, Fuel Parts, Lemark, and Lucas. The EGTS is located in front of and/or behind the DPF. www.smpeurope.com
