APRIL 2021 AFTERMARKET 35 throughout Autoelectro’s history, having previously remanufactured to OE standards for the original Lucas B90 rotating electrics programme and administering the European warranty programme for Delco Remy. In addition, Autoelectro was formally recognised with ISO:9001 accreditation for quality in 1994 – which is still in place today. Naturally, we’ve had to make significant investments over the years, such as OE testing equipment, but those commitments prove to our customers that all Autoelectro products will perform to the levels of those originally fitted to the vehicle when in production.” Commenting on the impact of Brexit and COVID-19 on the company, Nick said: “By adopting our core principles, we find ourselves in a unique position in that we’re not having to import our supplies, therefore, we have complete availability and ready to facilitate any order immediately. We boast excellent technical support and cataloguing on our website, which is a highly-effective and interactive tool to help customers manage all aspects of their commercial relationship with Autoelectro. The business will remain highly successful long into the future and the two millionth starter motor and alternators will surely follow.” sart e p tiv omo utA tric subishi Elec Mit enuine 100% g r d, s. a Mit bi hi El t i t il bl Performance Without Compromise su s ec r c par s ava a e for the Independent Aftermarket t us f ont or e t ebsit t or which Mit t ed and manuf Designed, engineer actured to the high quality s andards f subishi Electric is renowne exceeding the expec ations of car and truck manufacture Visit our w o find Approved Distribut s in your are or c ac or more information. www.aftermarket.mitsubishielectric.eu Find an Approved Distributor and place an order by visiting: Wide array The recent cold snap in January and February led to a wide array of surprising items being ordered. Nick commented: “As expected, temperatures dropped and our sales rose sharply; however, what wasn’t expected was the eclectic mix of applications. As one would envisage, we received orders for the likes of Ford, Vauxhall, Renault, Hyundai and Honda vehicles, but within these marques there were anomalies – the Renault Twingo and Hyundai i10, for example – that sold in higher numbers than usual. Autoelectro also noticed strong sales numbers in light commercial and four- wheel drive vehicles, such as the latest Ford Transit and Mitsubishi L200. What was surprising, if not more, was the span of vehicle ages; for example, we received requests for a 1994 Fiat Ducato and 1992 Toyota RAV4, through to a 2018 Ford C-Max.” Nick added: “If companies forecast stocks from demand history, then sell what would usually be a whole year’s demand for a part number in the first six weeks of the year, that could create significant challenges in terms of availability. However, Autoelectro was able to accommodate this demand with ease, as it does not have to import supplies and can react to any request immediately.” www.aftermarketonline.net
