Commenting on his new role, Parwinder said: “I have been in our industry for 35 years. It’s been fun and exciting. As a business owner it has also become challenging, especially with the low uptake of career opportunities by school leavers and people looking for diversity in their career paths. Our industry is worth £70 billion and employs more than 800,000 people so no matter what happens globally, there is always going to be automobiles on our roads. So why would you not want a career in one of the most job secure sectors on the marketplace. The difficulty is getting the message over to those who have never considered it and who best to that, but those who have been served well by it.” He added: “That is why I have put myself forward as a Non-Executive Director of School of Thought and promote the opportunities within our wonderful profession.”
