Aftermarket October 2022

Profitable One of the main areas HELLA and Faurecia, under the umbrella brand FORVIA, were keen to draw attention to was the Easy2Fit exhaust systems, with 3,300 kits covering 26,000 applications. The exhaust comes boxed in kit form, and is designed so it can be assembled by a technician and then fitted. Head of Marketing Aftermarket at HELLA Jörg Harjes said: "From now on, customers will not only benefit from our established, comprehensive service offering, but also from a significantly expanded range of services. By expanding our cooperation, we offer our customers an even more comprehensive range of products and services in complementary fields. After all, one in four cars worldwide is equipped with a Faurecia exhaust system." Speaking exclusively to Aftermarket, HELLA M.D Neil Grant added: “The Easy2Fitexhaust is a unique product. It's a standard exhaust, but divided into segments. That means that we can fit it into a regular sized box and then it can be connected in the workshop by one operative. Really, it's completely different to what the market has seen before. We see it as very much a good e-commerce product because current exhaust systems in the market are not the easiest things to move around.” Looking ahead to what more we can expect on from FORVIA, Neil concluded: “For sure it's the first of many. “ Mission Next up, BorgWarner Aftermarket and Delphi Technologies welcomed the press to their joint stand to show how they are looking to help garages address opportunities around e- mobility, as well as show off new product. Kit covered included dual clutch modules and a high voltage coolant heater from BorgWarner, along with lightweight bi-metallic brake discs and a repair programme for Euro 6 heavy-duty vehicle diesel injectors from Delphi Technologies. Commenting on their presence at the show, Michael Boe, Vice President and General Manager, BorgWarner Emission, Thermal and Turbo Systems Aftermarket noted: “Capitalizing on the strengths that our brands bring to the table benefits our customers and strengthens our position in the next phase of the e-mobility transformation coming to the automotive aftermarket.” Neil Fryer, Vice President and 54 AFTERMARKET OCTOBER 2022 AUTOMECHANIKA FRANKFURT 2022 REVIEW www.aftermarketonline.net General Manager at Delphi Technologies Aftermarket, added: “Our mission in the aftermarket is to their technicians to service and maintain the vehicles of today and tomorrow.” Electrification was the name of the game for Gates at Automechanika Frankfurt, and the company was using its presence to reinforce to garages how important it is to adapt to the changes going on right through the automotive sector. Steven Zimmer, VP Automotive Aftermarket Sales, EMEA at Gates observed: “Gates believes that to manage a successful transition into EV maintenance, garages will need not only relevant products and technologies but access to a vast amount of technical information. We are continually developing new training materials, keeping our customers ahead of the game. We already have the infrastructure in place to deliver the support that our distributors will need to service the requirements of their garage customers.” Positive message BM Catalysts were at the show to make sure as many people as possible were able to see the selective catalyst reduction (SCR) references that the company has put on the market: “This is the official launch here,” said Commercial Director Mark Blinston. “We released an initial range of five. We are looking to get some traction in Europe on those, obviously announcing an increase in capacity. SCR is the future, and the market is expected to grow over 20% over the next eight to nine years.” However, the main message was to make the sector in Europe aware of the BM Catalysts EU business, through which the company is now trading with customers on the continent. “Goods are still shipped out from the UK, but as soon as they have landed, they become BM Catalysts EU. We want to make it really easy. It’s a really positive message.” Mark added: “We also have our third production facility in the UK, although a lot of our European customers don’t know about that yet. We are also reassuring customers that are well prepared for energy costs changes at the moment. We are also talking through the complexities and the challenges that everyone has got at the moment.” Meanwhile, WAI was looking to highlight its range of We’re thrilled to be back at Automechanika Frankfurt to meet with our customers face-to-face ”
