50 n NEW PRODUCTS July/August 2020 www.drivesncontrols.com Thomson Industries has announced a compact electromechanical linear actuator with built-in “intelligence” that can deliver up to 2kN of force. It says that the Electrak MD actuator offers an alternative to hydraulic actuators which are costly to maintain and need a lot of space. The onboard intelligence enhances the actuator’s performance and saves space by keeping external components such as encoders and switches within the actuator housing. It offers easy control and communications, cutting operating costs and simplifying setup and installation. The actuator provides position feedback, communications via the J1939 CANbus, low-current, PLC- compatible switching, and an end-of-stroke output. Thomson Industries 01271 334 500 www.thomsonlinear.com/md KEB has introduced a hardware and software package that offers fast, secure remote-access maintenance for industrial machines and automation systems. The Combivis Connect system provides secure end-to-end connections, with centrally managed devices available at short notice from anywhere in the world. Regular data recording ensures transparent presentation of machine data. Remote maintenance can remove the need to travel to machines or plant equipment, saving time and travel costs. Devices can be accessed from a remote location, for example, during commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and status analysis. This needs a two-way secure Internet connection and users have the option of either a direct WAN connection or a wireless connection via any GSM network using the C6 VPN router designed for maintaining machines and systems at remote locations. KEB (UK) 01933 402 220 www.keb.co.uk ifm has launched a plug-and- play data acquisition system that allows IO-Link sensors to send process values to the cloud, even from locations with no network connections. The IO Key system supports up to two IO- Link sensors and transmits data via the GSM mobile network. It is preconfigured and does not need a SIM card. Users can visualise and analyse the acquired data via a Web-based dashboard that also offers options for setting limit values. If these values are exceeded, warnings can be sent automatically as emails or texts. Data from the sensors can be summarised and reported. The system can monitor the operation of remote sections of a plant. It needs only a 24V DC power supply and access to a GSM network. No connections to controls, PCs or networks are required. There are versions that transmit data to the cloud once per day, hour or minute, or once every 10s. The modules use M12 connections. ifm electronic 0208 213 2222 www.ifm.com/gb/en Linear actuators with on-board intelligence are compact rivals to hydraulics Maintenance platform gives remote access to machines and automation systems Data acquisition system connects IO-Link sensors to the cloud, without needing network connections Camozzi Automation has extended its Series D smart valve islands by adding a fieldbus connection option. The islands can be connected tomost main fieldbus protocols (Profibus-DP, Profinet, CANopen, EtherNet/IP, EtherCat and IO-Link) via a new serial module. The combination makes it easy to integrate pneumatic and electric functions, allows more valves to be controlled, and analogue and digital I/O modules to be interconnected via one network node. www.camozzi.co.uk SKF has extended its Enlight ProCollect portable data collection system, enablingmaintenance engineers to plan lubrication routes around a factory or process. The enhancement will help to improve maintenance procedures, potentially boosting uptime and cutting costs. The new functions, made possible by an update to the SKF ProCollect app, help users to collect vibration data and carry out re-lubrication simultaneously. www.skf.com ElectroCraft has added a high- performance 42mm (Nema 17) frame size to its AxialPower family of linear actuators. The configurable Apes 17 actuator is available with various imperial and metric leadscrew options, with resolutions from 0.006– 0.050mm/step, and an output force of up to 1,001N, offering up to 40% more force than competitive size 17 designs. www.electrocraft.com Atlas Copco has released a new version of its SmartLink remote monitoring system (2.0) that gives air users IoT-driven insights – not just data – and early warnings from their compressed air system. Simple dashboards provide an enhanced HMI, allowing users more interaction with air compressor systems and presenting information on potential failures, pressure drops and requiredmaintenance, in a way that makes themquicker to action. www.atlascopco.com Sigmatek has expanded its modular S-DIAS Safety system with a relay output module that can control voltages up to 230V/6A safely. The DIN-rail mounting SRO 022 module has two safe, two-channel outputs within a 25mm width and complies with SIL 3 and PL e. Both outputs are used for safe closing (NO) of electric circuit with 24V DC / 230V AC circuits with maximum continuous currents of 6A. www.sigmatek-automation.com
