63 www.drivesncontrols.com March 2022 NEW PRODUCTS n Omron has launched a barcode reader capable of high-volume, high-speed reading of tiny codes. The compact V440-F Series reader provides high accuracy and configuration flexibility by combining code reader technology fromMicroscan and image capture technology from Sentech, both of which Omron acquired in 2017. The high- resolution, field- configurable reader can scan dozens of tiny barcodes simultaneously for applications in which many barcoded items are in the field of view. It can also be configured to read from a long distance or to find multiple codes in a wide area, or on parts moving at high speed. These options make it ideal for reading codes during product assembly or packaging where the reader is outside of the operator’s working area. The intuitive WebLink user interface simplifies out-of-box configuration and application tuning, while advanced decoding algorithms help to ensure robust performance regardless of the surface, including transparent and reflective surfaces. Power- over-Ethernet, and EtherNet/IP and Profinet ports, enable connections to automation networks. The reader has a 5MP sensor, a dual-core processor supporting an image capture rate of 35 fps, and C-Mount lens options allowing the use of wide-area, long-distance, macro and telecentric lenses. This UA1995 carrier is said to offer plenty of space for all types of cable and hose, as well as a choice of opening options. To ease installation of cables and hoses, the carrier is available in a version that opens on both sides, as well as a closed design and versions that open inwards and outwards. Space-saving four-part chain links simplify storage and transport, and can be installed easily on site. The carrier, which has a 99.5mm pitch, is said to offer smooth running, low wear and a smooth surface. Universal mounting bracket end-connectors are made of a plastic with a similar strength to aluminium. Available in the UK from Mclennan , the StepServo actuators are available with Nema 11, 14, 17 or 23 frame motors, and with ball or leadscrew mechanics. The MLA and MCB actuators are moving-carriage designs, while the MLT series is a pushrod actuator. AMP’s StepServo technology combines a digital closed-loop servodrive, encoder feedback and options for motion control and communications. It is claimed to deliver more torque, acceleration, speed, accuracy and efficiency than open-loop stepper motor systems. The compact actuators use hybrid stepper motors which replace the motor shaft by a leadscrew assembly. The MLA and MCB-Smart series have extruded aluminium rail and support systems with a moving load-carrying carriage. Users can choose various ball/lead screw pitches and nut materials for a choice of positioning resolutions and speeds up to 100mm/s. The largest actuator, with a 23-frame motor, has a maximum stroke of 250mm and a load capacity of 7kg horizontal and 4.4kg vertical. The CTM switches – which offer locking forces of 1kN and adhesive forces of 25/50N – also support IO-Link communications, allowing them to be locked and unlocked remotely without needing separate wiring, as well as providing diagnostic data. The built-in electronics allows the switch to be wired separately or in series while maintaining performance up to Cat 4 / PLe. A bistable locking function prevents the guard locking from being deactivated if power is lost or if the installation is switched off. It can also prevent personnel from locking themselves inside potentially unsafe areas if the safety door is open when power is lost or the machine is switched off. No additional escape release is needed. The switches can be installed on small, lightweight doors and flaps with pivoting radii from 150mm. A hygienic version is available that is manufactured entirely of food-safe materials. Euchner (UK) 0114 2560123 www.euchner.co.uk Safety switches use IO-Link for remote locking and diagnostics
