64 n NEW PRODUCTS March 2022 www.drivesncontrols.com Tolomatic has released a multi- axis actuator system offering rigidity and accuracy for OEM machines. The two- or three-axis Twin Rail Stage (TRS) profiled rail actuator system, available in the UK from Inmoco, cuts assembly times for multi-axis linear motion applications. The enclosed actuators’ extruded bodies resist flexing and can handle loads up to 6kN. Available with a strokes of up to 750mm or 1.1m, depending on the frame size, the actuators can handle bending moments up to 294Nm. There is a choice between roller nuts with accuracies of ±0.0102mm/ 300mm, or ball nuts with accuracies of ±0.051mm/300mm. Multi-axis configurations can be supplied pre-assembled, cutting assembly and installation times. The TRS system can be mounted carrier-to-carrier without extra mounting plates. Users can choose their own motors and gearboxes, which can be mounted in-line or in reverse-parallel configurations. Inmoco 01327 307600 www.inmoco.co.uk Donghua has launched a high- performance roller chain which, it claims, lasts three times longer than some rival products. The X3 Chain has a“unique”pin coating, optimised plate geometry and precision stamping created using newmanufacturing technologies. The chain is aimed at high- demand sectors such as timber, waste and recycling, and mining and quarrying. High plate load limits are achieved using: high- performance materials that undergo isothermal heat treatment; calibrated pin and bushing holes; and an improved press fit between the pins and plates to maximise fatigue strength. New hardening technologies and special anti- friction coatings on the pin surfaces minimise friction between the pins and bushings. Donghua 01902 866 200. www.donghua.co.uk THK has announced a range of miniature linear guides that use rollers as rolling elements and provide high performance in compact spaces. The HRG guides – THK’s smallest – are available in three sizes: the HRG8 with an 8mm-wide rail and 16mm-wide blocks; the HRG10 with a 10mm- wide rails and 20mm-wide blocks; and the HRG12 with 12mm-wide rails and 27mm-wide blocks. THK says that the guides achieve higher rigidity and longer lives than rival guides. The sides of the rails have raceways that contact the rollers at 45 degrees, offering the same load ratings in al directions. The EcoDrive app, available as a free download from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, calculates eight operating points for VSDs and systems and can check motor efficiency classes. It helps to ensure that installations comply with the new EU ecodesign legislation, which regulates VSD efficiencies by subjecting them to requirements at different load points, in terms of speed and torque. The legislation mandates IE3 efficiency levels for three-phase motors from 0.75kW- 1MW, and IE2 for VSDs. “Our app helps to demonstrate the efficiency and losses of WEG inverters and motors in accordance with IEC61800-9-1 and IEC 61800-9-2,” says Marek Lukaszczyk, WEG’s marketing manager for Europe and Middle East. “Due to the continuous rise in energy consumption in industry, avoiding energy waste is crucial for sustainable consumption.” www.weg.net Web site shows live stock data on enclosures and accessories Foremost Electronics , the Essex-based importer and distributor of electromechanical components, has partnered with the B2B parts search specialist Mectronic to show live stock data on its Web site, including nVent/Schroff enclosures and accessories. Foremost is using Mectronic’s software to integrate its stock levels and plans to add more products as it expands its role as an nVent/Schroff partner. The Web site also displays the company’s 250 most popular products. Foremost key account manager, Emma Kempster says the service will give visitors up-to-date information on product availability. www.4most.co.uk Tool calculates energy savings of moving from standard hydraulics to servo-hydraulics Baumüller has developed an online tool that calculates, in just three steps, the potential energy savings of changing from traditional constant-pump hydraulic systems to servo-hydraulics. Depending on the application, such changes can save more than 50% energy per cycle. Users enter the duration, pressure and flow rate of the individual segments and the hydraulic energy and electricity consumption per cycle and the tool then calculates the total energy consumption per year. The CO2 footprint is displayed graphically, along with a percentage saving. The entered data can be used to design components, without further inputs. Servo- hydraulic machines combine the advantages of hydraulic power transfer with servodrive technology: high power densities, compact sizes, and cost-effective and robust drive elements that deliver dynamic, precise speed control. The energy consumption of the drive system is much lower and allows for shorter cycle times, higher accuracies and quieter operation.
