Following a successful appearance at Drives & Controls 2022, MTC is building on the conversations and relationships made to accelerate UK manufacturing through the adoption of automation and robotics. The show provided an excellent opportunity to meet with manufacturers, industry and supply chain to demonstrate how automating aspects of the production process can boost productivity. There were high levels of visitor interest at the show on MTC’s displays, proving the appetite to automate is there. In particular, Spot the robotic dog, which allows for the automation of routine inspection tasks and data capture, and Reacher, a novel remote handling demonstrator which brings together a range of innovative technology to remove humans from hazardous working environments. Automation is new to many businesses and there is understandable caution when it comes to the investment required.
