The R.Safe sensors, available in the UK from Plus Automation, offer three choices of coding – generic, teach-in or unique. The sensors support safety levels up to PL e / SIL 3, even when they are connected in series. They are compact (57 x 27 x 18mm) and easy to integrate into existing safety installations, allowing machines to be modified or upgraded. The sensors have built-in LED status indicators and anti-tamper protection caps. They are mechanically compatible with Reer's Magnus MG magnetic sensors and S series RFID sensors, and are available with IP67 and IP69K protection. The ELX6233 terminal allows Ethernet-APL, Hart and simple digital signals to be integrated in the same terminal segment. Ethernet-APL supports transmission rates of 10Mbit/s and cable length of up to 1km and is aimed, in particular, at process applications. The new modular terminal allows high channel densities, easy integration with existing plants, improved cycle times compared to field switches, expandability and a number of channels that can be adapted to suit the application. It integrates sensors into systems via Profinet, with two APL ports available for this purpose in the 24mm-wide terminal. Data from the sensors can be transmitted to a controller and to higher-level DCSs via the high-speed EtherCat communications. Equipped with a powerful processor and four Gigabit Ethernet ports, the TC router offers high bandwidths for industrial applications. This device makes it possible to monitor and maintain machines and systems via public or private 5G networks flexibly, remotely, and at high data rates. It is particularly suitable for data-intensive industrial mobile communications applications, such as high-resolution video transmission, managing large fleets of AGVs (automated guided vehicles), and for forwarding large files from mobile production machines. Phoenix is a founding partner of the 5G-ACIA (5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation). It developed a first pilot router for private 5G networks in 2020. The couplings, available in the UK from Acorn Industrial Services, offer more torque and torsional stiffness than flexible couplings, while fitting in a similar envelope. They are available in straight or step bore combinations with bore sizes from 6–25mm. www.acorn-ind.co.uk/ruland Kabelschlepp has announced a new generation of compact plastic cable carriers, suitable for automation, packaging, printing and material-handling applications. The Uniflex Advanced 1250 and QuickTrax/EasyTrax 0250 carriers, available from Metool, are suitable for self-supporting structures as well as for gliding applications, and can also be used horizontally in a circular arrangement. The UA1250 has a sturdy, closed design and is aimed at applications with small installation spaces. The EasyTrax ET0250 has flexible lamellas that allow cables and hoses to be pushed in easily. The QT0250 has two-component crossbars with flexible film hinges, which open with a light press on the unlocking mechanism. The BKM boxes are aimed at generalpurpose applications, delivering high efficiency and performance. The gearboxes, which come as gearbox-only or geared-motor combinations, can handle up to 750Nm of torque, span motor input powers from 0.09–5.5kW, are suitable for 2-, 4- and 6-pole motors, and are available with a variety of input and output options. The boxes come in IEC motor mounting, ST servomotor mounting or MV direct motor mounting variants. They are Atex-rated, allowing them to be used in hazardous environments. The gearboxes come with a fiveyear warranty.
