The P3 triangulation sensors comprises 32 models with five measuring ranges for distances from 30mm to 1m. The sensors are aimed at uses needing high optical precision where installation space is tight or where fine mechanical fluctuations occur. Even complex objects with irregular, glossy and reflective surfaces in different colours, can be detected. Two specially shaped aspherical lenses improve the image quality of the laser light spot and increase optical precision. An “adaptive autoexposure” function adjusts exposure times automatically, making it possible to expose both bright and dark objects, regardless of the material. The P3 sensors can be supplied with red or blue laser lights, and are available in digital or analogue versions. The digital models can be configured directly via teach-in; the analogue models via an Oled display or via a Bluetooth interface. All settings are made by pressing a button for 2s or 5s, without needing operating instructions. wenglor sensoric 01536 313580 www.wenglor.com Micro-Epsilon has introduced a non-contact capacitive displacement measuring system for precision measurements of distance, position, gap and thickness in ambient temperatures from –50°C to +800°C. The capaNCDT HT (high temperature) system consists of a capacitive displacement sensor with integrated coaxial cable, and a controller. Four sensor variants cover measuring ranges from 1– 20mm. The sensors can be used with Micro-Epsilon’s new highperformance capaNCDT 6228 controllers, available in two versions. The modular DT6228 and DT6238 controllers both offer up to four sensor channels, with the DT6238 also supporting EtherCat communications and synchronisation of several fourchannel systems. An interference-resistant 1m cable (with a drain wire acting as a ground) minimises signal interference by external electric or magnetic fields. The system can be expanded with up to four additional measuring channels. Micro-Epsilon UK 0151 355 6070 www.micro-epsilon.co.uk Arrow Electronics has launched a Web microsite and White Paper dedicated to designing motor drives to meet the energy-efficiency requirements of IEC/EN 60034-30-1. These are typically 5–50kW drives with DC bus voltages above 200V. The minimum efficiency requirement for these is increasing from IE3 to IE4 and IE5, raising system efficiencies from 86.7% to 89.5%. The free White Paper, called Design Considerations for Embedded Industrial Drives, describes motor-control techniques and drives architectures, including commutation methods, power-stage topologies, gate drives and techniques to mitigate interference. The Web page offers information on motor control chips, power semiconductors, protection and interference suppression, including documents, reference designs and product news. https://www.arrow.com/en/emea-vertical-energy-management Tool simplifies polymer coating selection Igus has launched an online tool for choosing polymer coatings for components using its lubrication-free iglidur materials which provide friction-optimised surfaces for electrically conductive components. Users drag-and-drop a CAD model of the component onto the tool, and choose one of six coating powders, the performance of which can be compared. They then specify the coating thickness, and the tool calculates prices and delivery times. It also shows how the coated component will look. In the last step, the user can review the shopping cart, forward it to purchasers or other parties, or order it immediately. The coatings can be applied to almost any surface. https://www.igus.co.uk/info/coating-online-tool Web site covers rotary, linear and related technologies Nexen Group has launched a Web site covering its rotary and linear motion control technologies, power transmission components, functional safety industrial brakes, and accessories for industrial and OEM applications. The redesigned site is said to offer an intuitive experience with improved navigation, search and responsiveness. The site includes look-ahead navigation that reduces the number of clicks needed to find a product. A new product selection tool with enhanced filtering makes it easy to narrow down products for applications. www.nexengroup.com Virtual 3D site offers immersive experience of CC-Link The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) has announced an immersive 3D virtual experience that showcases its open networking technologies. Visitors can explore a digital library, industry zones, a product area and a conference centre. They have access to real-world replicas of automation components, production facilities and an interactive digital transformation guide. There is an exhibition space and an auditorium for presentations. https://cc-link-vp.org Laser distance sensors measure microns in tight spaces Displacement measuring system can handle ambient temperatures of up to 800°C Hub and White Paper help to meet drive efficiency regulations
