NEW PRODUCTS n Omron has announced a configurable smart camera with a 35 frame/second, 5-megapixel monochrome sensor that, it says, brings “exceptional” performance to almost any machine vision application. The MicroHawk F440-F camera is claimed to be the smallest in its class. A set-up tool called AutoVision allows quick, easy configuration of complex applications. It is compatible with C-mount lenses and supports external lighting, allowing users to optimise imaging set-ups. The camera supports digital I/O, RS-232, Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP and Profinet. It can be powered by a 24V supply or via Power-over-Ethernet. The camera is pin-compatible with Omron’s MicroHawk F430-F camera, providing an upgrade path without rewiring. The PTCB eFuse circuitbreakers allow the exact current value can be selected. Until final implementation, changes in the loads can be managed flexibly without needing to swap products. Facilities such as status messages and local and remote reset options offer benefits that were previously available only when protecting larger nominal currents. The breakers facilitate the clear detection of faults and support precise fault localisation and fast recovery. Response times are said to be faster than conventional fuse protection. The breakers’ low voltage losses allow long cable paths to the load. Decentralised applications can thus be supplied and protected reliably. Existing systems using glass fuses can be converted to the new products. The micro-fuses are said to save control cabinet space because of their integrated potential distribution of positive and negative. The ability to combine and bridge with Clipline terminal blocks also simplifies set-ups. The Lynx 3000 devices are powered by the WeOS operating system, which, along with an intuitive Web interface for set-up and configuration, simplifies the installation, operation and maintenance of devices and complete networks, removing the need for specialised IT support or training. The series, which includes entry-level models optimised for Fast Ethernet applications, can handle big data, high bandwidths and mission-critical applications. The switches are tested to meet a broad range of industry standards. IP40 metal housings, industrial-grade components and a high level of isolation between interfaces help to extend service lives. The series includes Power over Ethernet (PoE) versions that help to reduce network complexity and costs by providing communications and power over a single cable. With up to 30W from each port, these switches can be used for powerhungry applications. A suite of cybersecurity tools is available to increase cyberresilience. These can be used to build IEC 62443-compiant networks. Westermo 01489 580585 www.westermo.co.uk Gigabit Ethernet switches do not need IT support or training
