COMPRESSED AIR 46 HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS October 2021 www.hpmag.co.uk BOGE has launched a line of economy screw compressors with immediate availability. With the company’s ‘Made in Germany’ reliability, BOGE ecoline is claimed to deliver high operating hours, low servicing costs and includes next day delivery. BOGE comments that this will come as positive news for many businesses facing the challenges of UK availability right now. Suiable for the smaller industrial manufacturer, the ecoline screw compressor uses a belt-driven drive system and is oil- lubricated. It comes with standard options such as different pressure ratings, air receiver, refrigerant dryer and a 24-month warranty, extendable up to 5 years. The compressor includes an IE3 motor and BOGE base control, which is also used in the current C-series compressor range. The air end is a first generation design used for many years in previous generations of BOGE Compressors and is manufactured by BOGE’s factory in Germany. Meeting the needs of a wider customer base Mark Whitmore, general manager at BOGE, says: “We’ve learnt from many of our customers that a low capital purchase price, immediate availability and reliability are crucial factors for this series of compressor. The typical business drivers such as total cost of ownership or extended warranty are not so important in applications where ecoline fits the bill. We’ve been able to meet the needs of a wider customer base with this economy line, offering value for money but still with BOGE’s outstanding technology and made in Germany reliability.” Feedback from the ecoline product launch at BOGE’s 2021 Distributor Conference this week, has been overwhelmingly positive. Andy Callan, managing director at PCM Engineering, a BOGE ecoline – an economy 4 to 30kW rotary screw compressor distributor of BOGE compressors, says: “I am hugely impressed with this latest series of screw compressor from BOGE. It really hits the mark for us and of course, stock availability and the competitive price is hugely desirable. It’s also the low maintenance factor that’s really important to our smaller industrial customers.” Stock of all compressors and service parts are available from BOGE’s UK warehouse in Huddersfield, with next- day delivery available. https://uk.boge.com/en/products/screw-compressor-S-eco TMC Compressors (TMC) has been contracted to supply the marine compressed air system for the Woodside Sangomar FPSO. TMC will deliver a large marine compressed air system to Woodside Sangomar FPSO which is currently undergoing conversion from a very large crude carrier (VLCC) to a floating, production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) at COSCO shipyard in Dalian, China. “The Sangomar field is expected to be Senegal’s first offshore oil development. I believe any supplier would be proud to be involved with such an important project for a developing nation,” says Hans Petter Tanum, TMC’s director of sales and business development. TMC’s marine compressed air system for the Woodside Sangomar FPSO will consist of large capacity service and instrument air compressors with associated air dryers and filters. TMC has not disclosed the value of the contract. The marine compressed air system will be manufactured in Europe and delivered to COSCO’s shipyard in Dalian, China. Once completed, the FPSO will be deployed at the Sangomar (formerly SNE) field located approximately 100 km south of Dakar, Senegal. MODEC is responsible for supplying the FPSO, while Woodside is the operator of the Sangomar field development. Reliability Tanum adds:“When vessels operate far from shore, operators want the most reliable equipment. Our marine compressed air system is designed specifically for offshore and marine use and to allow the crew to conduct equipment maintenance themselves. This is a key reason for why our system is favoured by the majority of the leading international FPSO operators.” Scheduled for delivery in early 2023, the FPSO will be permanently moored at a water depth of approximately 780 metres. She will be capable of processing 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 130 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, 145,000 barrels of water injection per day and will have minimum storage capacity of 1,300,000 barrels of crude oil. TMC is a global supplier of compressed air systems for marine and offshore use. The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway. www.tmc.com TMC supplies compressors to Woodside Sangomar FPSO
