As a main automation contractor for the Clair Ridge project, which achieved first oil at the end of 2018, Emerson was responsible for implementing its advanced integrated control and safety systems, and measurement and control devices to ensure safe, efficient operation of the two bridge-linked platforms. BP used Emerson’s Project Certainty methodology and consulting to define project goals that would eliminate costs, reduce complexity and risk, and accommodate late-stage changes. Using the latest technology, Emerson’s cloud engineering services enabled global project personnel to remotely collaborate on design, development and testing in a common virtualised environment. This allowed project changes and testing to be managed efficiently and remotely, reducing travel, time, costs and project risk. www.emerson.com Forum Subsea Technologies has secured orders from DOF Subsea to supply three of its Ultra Compact Perry XLX-C work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). DOF Subsea will deploy the vehicles onto three of its ROV support vessels for recently awarded projects in Brazil. The systems will be manufactured at Forum’s UK facility at Kirkbymoorside in Yorkshire and delivered in the first quarter of this year. The compact 2,000m rated 150HP XLX-C vehicles, which are coupled with compact Dynacon LARS designs, are the first of their kind to be delivered to the market. Forum has engineered the ROV footprint to suit the current specifications required by DOF Subsea and their prospective clients. These latest Perry ROVs are powered by a capable, work class performance 150HP main and auxiliary hydraulic system providing unparalleled thrust in an ROV of this class. www.f-e-t.com Craig International has secured a contract with Spirit Energy, which is potentially worth £21million over seven years.
