NEW PRODUCTS n Kollmorgen has released a drive for two-phase hybrid stepper motors, providing smooth motion control at both full and microstepping positions at up to 25,600 steps per revolution. The high power density P80630-SDN drive delivers up to 7.8A peak in a 26mm-wide package that weighs 200g. The drive, designed for lowspeed, precision point-to-point control for fixed loads, is available from Inmoco. The drive offers improved performance compared to Kollmorgen’s earlier 6410 and P70530 drives, with 10% more output current in a 60% smaller package that is up to 34mm shorter than the 6410. It has an input voltage range of 24-75V DC and provides step and direction control up to 5.5A rms current per phase. With step resolutions ranging from fullstep to 1/128 micro-stepping, the drive achieves 200–25,600 steps per revolution, providing precise open-loop control without an encoder. It supports single-ended or differential step and direction interfaces or CW/CCW command inputs. No programming is needed, with easy set-up via Dip-switch settings, including motor phase current, idle current reduction (from 50–90%) and step resolution. The company says the design represents a “step change”in IPM motor production compared to distributed wound motor designs. The first model, the IP69Kprotected EA-193-40, delivers a peak power of 12.8kW, a peak of torque of 63Nm at 450A rms or 22.5Nm at 150A rms, and a top speed of 7,000 rpm. The 208mmdiameter, 142mm-deep motor weighs 11.4kg. Other models will offer peak torque ratings from 35–125Nm, peak power ratings from 5-30kW, top speeds of 10,000 rpm, and operating voltages from 24–144V. “For three years we have been challenging conventional electric motor manufacturing methods with our automation technology,” says Electrified’s MD, Jim Winchester. “Automation will always be a cornerstone of our business, but our future is about using this as a platform to take our own motors direct to market. “Our team have delivered a product that achieves maximum performance in a compact package,” he adds. “The gamechanging patented design will provide size, weight and performance benefits for a host of applications. We have designed the motor architecture to maximise the automation potential.” Electrified Automation www.electrifiedautomation.com NORD Gear Limited | Tel +44 (0) 1235 534404 | GB-Sales@nord.com nord.com NORDAC PRO Accessible | Versatile | Future-proof NORD 4.0 READY!
